Eddies “story” began nearly three decades ago with Eddies Pizzeria in 1992 when “Eddie” actually first started making, what would decades later become, Akron’s favorite cheesesteaks. Eddies Pizzeria is where the Eddies mission first started to be cemented as an extreme commitment to offering the highest quality of amazing food with a relentless passion for service. Eddies Pizzeria also introduced us to our first taste of a rabid fan base, many that still follow us nearly three decades later!
The early 2000’s evolved into a catering enterprise with cheesesteaks making “guest star” appearances at festivals and major events all over the United States and NE Ohio. In 2008, Ed stumbled upon Panama City Beach Spring Break by “accident”. It’s hard to put into words what transpired for nearly a decade in Panama City Beach but one thing for sure...Eddies Famous Cheesesteaks had arrived!
Back home, Eddies had a very successful location at the other end of Main Street adjacent to the Zar Nightclub from 2011 till late 2017 before the untimely demise of the Zar, in addition to an extremely successful four season run in Canal Park, home of the Akron Rubber Ducks. In 2018 and 2019 Eddies launched a wildly successful Eddies PopUp Tour with our mobile unit and our following skyrocketed on social media resulting in sellout after sellout and a widening mass appeal. The stage has been set for a perfectly timed return to our roots and the heart of Eddies...Downtown Akron!
